Andy Burne is the Principle Director of Global Food Consultancy Ltd. After Graduating with a BSc Hons Consumer Product Management at Robert Gordon University in 1997 he joined the Trainee QA Manager’s Graduate Scheme with the Grampian Country Food Group and gained invaluable hands on experience working in the QA departments in slaughter houses and meat packing plants in the UK. After working his way up to a Technical Manager in a large poultry site in the South East he then joined Brakes Food Service as Category Technical Manager.

As a Category Technical Manager at Brakes he then gained invaluable experience in Category Risks and Global Supply Chain Management which took him all over the world auditing and managing Brake’s suppliers.

With the wealth of experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management Andy then decided in 2009 to set up Global Food Consultancy Ltd offering food safety management solutions to clients. Since then Andy and his team have carried out supplier approval and supplier maintenance for some of the Global Brands and UK Retailers. Andy has also assisted suppliers to gain retailer approval and prepared them for Retailer Technical Audits and BRC Food Safety Audits.

Andy is also an approved BRC Auditor auditing against the BRC Food Safety Standard Issue 8, BRC Storage & Distribution and BRC Agents & Brokers Standard as well as auditing for some of the UK Retailers.
