The  Scores on the Doors scheme is now  a national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS).

The Scores on the Doors (FHRS) is a scheme to show how well a food business is complying with the Food Hygiene Requirements.

The Scores on the Doors scheme (FHRS) applies to all retailers and caterers who handle and prepare open food for the public.

Each catering establishment is given a  hygiene ratings or hygiene scores that reflects the inspection findings carried out by the local EHO.

The aim of the Score of the Doors Scheme (or the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme), is help consumer choose where to eat by giving them the Hygiene Ratings of restaurants and catering outlets.  

The Scores on the Doors Scheme (Food Hygiene Rating Scores) also aims to encourage Caterers to improve their hygiene standards and therefore reduce the incidence of Food borne illnesses.

The Food Hygiene Rating Scores are now available for over 150,00 catering outlets online at the Scores on the Doors website or on the Food Standards Agency Website
