The Food Hygiene Ratings Scheme (FHRS) or more commonly known as the Scores on the Doors  Scheme is a National scheme set up by the Food Standards Agency and run by local home authorities.

The local home authorities are responsible for inspecting food premises to check  they are the meeting the requirements of the food hygiene law.

It is essential that companies understand the importance of the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) and its implications to their business.

Below is an excellent video by The Safer Food Group giving advice on the importance of having a Food Safety Management system and its relationship in obtaining a high score on the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

For more info on the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme please speak to your Local Home Authority or check out the Scores on the Doors site or the  FSA site
